The only way to be the hands and feet of Jesus is to love Him and serve others out of our love for Him. But to do that we must first be deeply rooted in our life with God.
FEED THE HUNGRY & CLOTHE THE NAKED
How We Help
SHARE and Food Pantry: provide families food packages to help supplement their monthly groceries; Montgomery County Emergency Men’s Shelter: provide hot dinners first Saturday of the month; Montgomery Avenue Women’s Center: provide hot lunch to 30 women; Thanksgiving (February and November): provide families with about a week’s worth of groceries; Prepare lunches for Habitat for Humanity volunteers; Provide outer wear to those experiencing homelessness; Provide clothing for neighborhood children
Is it not a time to share your food with the hungry, and bring the poor man into your house who has no home of his own? Is it not a time to give clothes to the person you see who has no clothes, and a time not to hide yourself from your own family? Isaiah 58:7

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4-5
FELLOWSHIP IN THE SPIRIT
How We Help
Fellowship with Arcola Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center residents each third Sunday (along with Society members, the Sons of Allen and Men’s Ensemble, Senior Usher Board, Sunbeam Choir, and Special Guest Artists)—sing hymns and songs, read Scripture and poems, pray; Send notes/cards of birthday and birth celebrations, encouragement, and bereavement to First AME family and friends; Visit with our health challenged and home-bound members
Any encouragement by being united in Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in spirit and purpose. Philippians 2:1-2

He will take care of the helpless and poor when they cry to him; for they have no one else to defend them. He feels pity for the weak and needy and will rescue them. He will save them from oppression and from violence, for their lives are precious to him. Psalm 72:12-14
