The Dolly Desselle Adams Missionary Society

The Dolly Desselle Adams Missionary Society consists of women and men who are compelled to do the work of missions. The Society’s monthly meetings (first Saturday of the month at 12 noon) begin with devotion, followed by training on current social and health issues that affect our world, society, and community—preparing us to serve within the walls, as well as outside the walls of First A.M.E. Church. The Society also works with other church and community organizations on outreach projects.

The YPD consists of children and youth ages 2 to 18 years old. YPD meetings (7 p.m. on the Friday before the third Sunday) begin with a devotion, followed by a study area (such as the liturgical calendar, the A.M.E. church history, Black history, and social issues–violence in schools, HIV/AIDS).

The YPDers provide community services, fellowship with other youth and the elderly, and work with the Senior Society to carry out our missions.
