Pastor's Letter

As I have reflected over the last few months and more, I see a picture. In order to “see” you must use your “spiritual eye,” because the natural eye cannot find the proper focus to grasp it. It must be a walking by FAITH! You ask, “What do you see Pastor Glenn?” Let me share what I “SEE” with you:

I SEE a community of faith where people (both young and not so young) are so excited about the Good News of Jesus the Christ that they must share it with others through their walk and with their talk wherever they are, especially in our community of Montgomery County and even beyond.

I SEE a community of faith where the “koinonia” (the Spirit-filled fellowship) is present so that members are encouraged (in love), through the class system, small groups, and activities, to live out and workout their souls salvation, not only at church but in their everyday life.

I SEE a community of faith where people are being educated and developed in spiritual maturity and health, through Bible studies, classes, seminars, retreats, and a Bible Institute.

I SEE believers equipped, as they grow from salvation to sanctification and from membership to discipleship as they discover their gifts and talents, and then using those gifts and talents in ministry.

I SEE servant-ministers accepting the “call”, both lay and clergy, to do the work of ministry.

I SEE a community of faith where people come and become members because they find Jesus and because they are welcomed, loved, encouraged, equipped, educated, and empowered to live and share.

I SEE a community church life center, with a worship center, a youth center, a senior center, an educational center, wellness center and a transition home.

I SEE a community of faith that employs spirit- filled employees so that they and we become entrepreneurs.

I SEE the blessed, strong, healed, broken, hurting, lost, blind, sick, confused, depressed, shut out, burdened, the walking dead, and those who think they are all right, coming because they find grace, hope, healing, help, forgiveness, and encouragement through a holistic ministry to the total person- spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and socially.

I SEE a community of faith where justice and reconciliation are emphasized.

Reverend Dr. Barbara Y. Glenn
